Mainly recorded in Mayfair Studios, this was an experimental period for guitar synths. There are quite a few Project songs with synth tracks that are actually played from a guitar, but Ian believes that for a proper solo, there is nothing better than a good guitar sound.
In the midst of the guitar synth era, someone once said "Why would lots of first rate guitarists want to sound like second rate keyboard players?" Good point.
